Steam Threshing Festival
September 16-18, 2011
Heritage Park of North Iowa – Forest City, IA

Heritage Park of North Iowa welcomes everyone to come play, eat, and enjoy an outdoor weekend “from the past.”  The annual Steam Threshing Festival features nineteen different field demonstrations, including horse powered, steam powered and gas powered.  Don’t miss the auction/consignment sale on Friday starting at 1 pm.  Added attractions and interactive events this year include: greased pig contest, tug of war competition, steam engine games, pie eating contest, Iowa Trolley Park Kid Steam Rides, plus so much more.  Peek in the one room school house on Saturday to witness local children experiencing a typical school day as it was at the turn of the century.  Walk your way through history as you take a self-guided tour of all the historic buildings and museums on site.  The parades of power take place on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Each year the Steam Threshing Festival has a featured brand; for the 2011 show it is Oliver/Hart Parr.

This three day event is full of actives for the whole family. Friday is free, $6 entrance fee is good for Saturday and Sunday.  (12 and under free admission.)
