From Saturday September 19th through Sunday September 20th, 2015 Heritage Park of North Iowa will be holding its 32nd Annual Steam Threshing Festival. This two day event is full of actives for the whole family. Admission is $6 and covers admission for both days. Exhibitors are always admitted free. And on Friday September 18th join us for our 10th Annual Consignment Sale, in conjunction with Fox Auction Company, featuring antique tractors, implements, households, tools, literature, memorabilia and much more. Things to See and Do
Heritage Park of North Iowa is home to a very impressive collections of steam traction engines, prairie tractors, threshing machines, crawlers, flywheel engines, row crop tractors and much more. Come and see what all we have. The rotating images above show a small sampling of some sights from previous events, you may click on any image to view a larger image.
Kid's activities on Saturday from 11-3:00 will include petting farm animals, naturalist Lisa Ralls at the trapper's cabin, face painting, trolley rides, punkin' chunkin', tug-of-war, gunny sack races, 3-legged races, kick-the-can, Annie-I-Over, butter-making, find coins in a haystack, hammer and nail pounding, and the Pioneer Village museums will be open.
Kids activities on Sunday from 11:00-3:00 will include assisted horseback rides, kids fun old-fashioned-outdoor games, trolley rides, face painting, punkin' chunkin', find coins in a haystack, make butter, wash clothes on a washboard, beat rugs, and visit the museums in the Pioneer Village.
Our antique tractor pulls will be Sunday September 19, 2015. We are pleased to be working with Blue Ox Sled Company to provide these events. See the posters below for details.
There will be multiple forms of entertainment available at the Steam Threshing Festival. Be sure check out the Schedule of Events for a full listing of entertainment options. One of these entertainers will be Carver Creek Bluegrass a band of five siblings ranging in age from six to twenty-one from Carver, MN. Carver Creek sings bluegrass, folk, country and old-time music. Instrumentally they use the banjo, guitar, fiddle, penny whistle, ripsaw and cow fiddle. Visit their website for more information on the band.
Another entertainer on hand for the event is Gary Froiland. Gary is a solo musician that combines the 5 string banjo, guitar, bass, harmonica, dobro and fiddle into his programs. You can see an example of Gary's talent with this video.
Corn and Bologna Feed
At approximately 5:30 PM on Saturday September 19th, 2015 there will be an all you can eat sweet corn and bologna feed at the Heritage Park Steel Wheel cafe. Ticket prices are $6. The sweet corn and bologna are prepared using steam from one the steam engines exhibiting at the show. All the amenities are provided. Come and have a great time and a great meal.

Traveling as a full band, or known locally as a duo called the Mockingbirds, they have appeared on stages across Iowa and 10 other states in their career. As opening act at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Ia. for the legendary texas swing troubadours, Asleep at the Wheel in the fall of 2008, and also as regular favorites during the Winter Dance party celebration. Drawing on their deep appreciation for authentic 1950's and 1960's style rhythm and blues, honky tonk country, blue grass, rock a billy and rock and roll music, this husband and wife duo features tight two part harmony and true vintage correct guitar and bass accompaniment that is sure to strike a chord in the ears and hearts of their fans and listeners.
