From Thursday through Sunday Heritage Park of North Iowa will be hosting the Rumely Products Collectors Annual Expo held in conjunction with its Annual Steam Threshing Festival. This four day event is full of actives for the whole family. Admission is $6 per day or $12 for all four days. See the Show Guide below for complete details and interesting articles. Things to See and Do
Heritage Park of North Iowa is home to a very impressive collections of steam traction engines, prairie tractors, threshing machines, crawlers, flywheel engines, row crop tractors and much more. Come and see what all we have. The rotating images above show a small sampling of some sights from previous events, you may click on any image to view a larger image.
Kids activities on Sunday from 11:00-3:00 will include assisted horseback rides, kids fun old-fashioned-outdoor games, trolley rides, face painting, find coins in a haystack, make butter, wash clothes on a washboard, beat rugs, and visit the museums in the Pioneer Village.
Our antique tractor pulls will be Sunday. We are pleased to be working with Blue Ox Sled Company to provide these events. See the posters below for details.
Golf carts are available for rent. Insurance is included with the rental fee.
If you bring your own golf cart or 4 wheeler you must follow these rules:
- All motorized vehicles must be registered and you must show proof of insurance
- You must be at least 16 years old to operate the vehicle
There will be multiple forms of entertainment available at the Steam Threshing Festival. Be sure check out the Schedule of Events for a full listing of entertainment options. One of these entertainers will be Carver Creek Bluegrass a band of five siblings ranging in age from six to twenty-one from Carver, MN. Carver Creek sings bluegrass, folk, country and old-time music. Instrumentally they use the banjo, guitar, fiddle, penny whistle, ripsaw and cow fiddle. Visit their website for more information on the band.
Another entertainer on hand for the event is Gary Froiland. Gary is a solo musician that combines the 5 string banjo, guitar, bass, harmonica, dobro and fiddle into his programs. You can see an example of Gary's talent with this video.
Corn and Bologna Feed
At approximately 5:30 PM on Friday there will be an all you can eat sweet corn and bologna feed at the Heritage Park Steel Wheel cafe. Ticket prices are $5. The sweet corn and bologna are prepared using steam from one the steam engines exhibiting at the show. All the amenities are provided. Come and have a great time and a great meal.

Heritage park has camping available for attendees at the Steam Threshing Festival, there are also various area hotels available. The above link has all of the information. A block of 20 rooms have been reserved until August 14th at the Super 8 (641-585-1300) for the Rumely Expo. Just mention Rumely Expo when calling for a room.
