10th Annual Heritage Festival - July 15th, 2012

Heritage Festival is all about North Iowa’s immigrant history. This area in which Heritage Park of North Iowa resides was settled primarily by German and Scandinavian immigrants, a large percentage of whom were Norwegians. Heritage Festival is held on the Sunday preceding Winnebago Industry’s annual WIT Rally in July. This year the Festival will be held on July 15th.

The Heritage Festival features a church service at the historic Beaver Creek church starting at 10:00 AM followed by a church basement dinner at 11:00 AM. The church service is filled with music that is both entertaining and inspiring. The church dinner has food that would have made the old Scandinavians proud! Lutefisk, Swedish meat balls, and plenty of other Scandinavian foods are offered. For the Festival, the museum buildings throughout the Heritage Park grounds are open and you’ll see many demonstrations during the day. You can also expect to see steam engines running the sawmill and threshing oats. The museums at Heritage Park feature antique transportation, fire engines, tractors, steam engines, a black smith shop, school houses, farm equipment, a trolley service, Indian artifacts, and much more. The park opens at 8:00 AM; there is a $2.00 entrance fee to the Park.
