Holtan Farm Museum

Currently, the Holtan Family Farm Museum is located two miles northwest of Forest City. On a self-guided tour of the museum is a dairy barn complete with milk room. Stan's wood craving shed is full of all the unique woodcarvings and contraptions Stan has created over the years. The Holtan totem pole can be viewed walking from the wood shed to the corn crib where a turn of the century doctor's office, country school room and a small chapel reside. Also included in the tour is a blacksmith shop, a trapper's log cabin, the Holtan toy repository, farm implements of the early 1900's and much, much more. The farm features the 1869 Lunstrum family log house and a 1900 old farmhouse complete with furnishings.

Stan and Ruth Holtan have gracefully gifted the entire museum to Heritage Park of North Iowa. Over the course of the next several years, the museum will be moved to the Heritage Park site. Until the move is complete, on show days, a shuttle service will be provided between Heritage Park and the museum's current location on the Holtan Family Farm.
